Title says it all! This is a recipe everyone has in their back pocket and a recipe that is loved by all! Please don’t judge this recipe because of the microwave bacon. This is the one and only time you will see it on this blog. I have made this recipe with every cut of bacon and to be honest I have found this to be not only the easiest, but the best. No one knows it is microwave bacon! When I give the recipe out , everyone gives me that look, ya know the one you are giving me now! Have faith, it works and no one will be the wiser, it s just between us!
INGREDIENTS
1 Package of li’l smokies
1 package of microwave bacon ( yes, microwave)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup (the real stuff)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven 325 degrees. I have made this two different ways, its up to you now!
Choice one:
Cut the bacon in half , wrap around smokie, secure with a tooth pick. continue until all of the smokies are done. place all of the smokies in a large ziploc bag and add the brown sugar to marinate over night…
Choice two:
Cut bacon in half , wrap smokie with a tooth pick and place on a cookie sheet until all of the smokies are wrapped. When all have been wrapped sprinkle brown sugar over top.
BAKE
Place on a cookie sheet with non stick foil, bake until bacon is crisp 10-12 minutes. Transfer to a crock pot on the low or keep warm setting.
Add maple syrup.
Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
1 lb. Jimmy Dean hot sausage roll (any hot sausage will do)
1/2 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tube Pillsbury crescent roll
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brown sausage in a skillet. In the meantime roll out the crescent roll onto a sheet pan closing all perforations, making it one piece of dough.
Spread crescent roll to an even layer and make five slices partially through the dough on both sides (about 1/2 inch slices) leaving a solid layer of dough through the center.
When the sausage is cooked, drain sausage then add cheese, cook and stir until melted.
Place the sausage mixture down the middle of the dough.
Starting at the ends of the dough, take that short end and fold it over the sausage, then fold over the sides alternating the dough, most of the sausage will be covered but if you have a portion that is not covered its okay, the dough will cook and bond together. Bake for 12-14 minutes depending on your oven, mine takes 14 minutes!
Let sit for 2-3 minutes before cutting.
Serve and Enjoy!
This would be fantastic for dinner, game night or any party occasion! I know this will be making an appearance MANY more times for dinner and parties to come!
You can put this on a hamburger type roll, slider for an appetizer or even a wrap! If you don’t like blue cheese feel free to swap it out with ranch dressing.
The original recipe came from Pillsbury it is written as a slow cooker recipe, however I did change it a bit. I cooked it stove top and then transferred it to my slow cooker putting it on the “warm” setting. I think cooking it on low or high for a period of time would dry it out if it cooked for too long, that is my only caution for this recipe!

hamburger buns, slider buns or wraps
BLUE CHEESE SAUCE
8 ounces of sour cream
2/3 cup blue cheese (crumbled)

DIRECTIONS
In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until cooked through, stirring occasionally. Drain beef, add celery, tomato paste, tomato sauce, wing sauce, cider vinegar and chili powder. Nothing can be more simpler than a recipe with only 3 ingredients! You heard me right…ONLY 3 ingredients. But to make this even better, this recipe is BAKED, not fried, and still full of flavor! Not much is better than that!
INGREDIENTS
1 package of egg roll wrappers
1 package of coleslaw mix
1 package of HOT Jimmy Dean sausage
Salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Brown sausage in a skillet. When sausage has been browned, drain the liquid.
In a bowl place about two cups of coleslaw mix (you be the judge!). Add the browned sausage, season with salt and pepper and mix well.
Add about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sausage mixture to the middle of the egg roll wrapper and wrap by folding the side of the wrapper in to the center and roll to make a log shape. Continue until all of the mixture is gone. Place them on a baking sheet sprayed with non stick spray and Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, turning them about half way through. Once they are browned take them out and serve with your favorite duck sauce, sweet and sour sauce. Sometimes we use Frank’s Sweet Chili Sauce found at most grocery stores!
Enjoy!
