If you happen to live in New Hampshire you have certainly heard of the M/S Mount Washington cruise ship that takes visitors on a beautiful cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee. They offer a number of cruises including a Sunday brunch cruise, dinner cruises and theme night cruises. We took my parents for their Mother’s Day champagne brunch cruise.
The Sunday we went it was a bit overcast and chilly but it was still a wonderful day for a 2 1/2 hour cruise on this beautiful boat. This boat is 230 feet long with indoor and outdoor seating, 4 decks and three dance floors. The $54.00 dollar per person includes the cruise, brunch buffet and live entertainment. We sat inside near the center of the boat. After the boat left the dock we decided it was time to check out the brunch buffet. They had a couple of brunch stations set up throughout the boat.
You start out grabbing your plate and silverware then you round the corner and find endless amounts of food. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns. Lots of fresh fruit, muffins, danishes, various kinds of salad. Fresh made waffles right in front of you along with a carving station. The food was bright, fresh and delicious.
Between the four of us, I think we had a little bit of everything.
We enjoyed our brunch while listening to a small live band where some of the kids on the ship danced on the dance floor as we cruised the scenic lake.
After Jim finished his plate it was not long before he went looking for the dessert table and boy did he find it! He brought back a variety of cookies, brownies, and pastries for all of us to try.
Some of the staff on boat raved about the brownies and we can see why. They were incredibly rich and chocolatey! Everything we had was very good, we were all stuffed! What a way to spend Mother’s Day!
It does not have to be Mother’s Day to enjoy this as they have brunch most Sundays along with dinner and dance cruises. Find them online and on Facebook for more information and tickets.
Enjoy!
Another great corn recipe but this one was made in the air fryer with a little twist adding mayonnaise and Parmesan cheese. Jim really enjoyed the addition of the mayo and cheese although I too liked it I think I’m more of a purist when it comes to corn. I like butter and salt a little better.
Air fryers are all a little different but I cooked my corn for 12 minutes but depending on your fryer and how roasted you want the corn, you can adjust the time as needed.
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
Cover the corn completely with the mayonnaise then roll the corn in the cheese. Place the corn in your air fryer and air fry at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.remove from the fryer but let cool for a couple of minutes as they are hot!
Enjoy!
It’s summer and I’m back! Sometimes schedules just get a little crazy and now with all the warm weather, it’s been great getting out and enjoying it. I will be in and out for the summer but I have lots of great summer and grilling recipes coming for you! This recipe has been floating around on Facebook and Pinterest for a while now and really wanted to see what the hype was about.
I made this as soon as I found corn on the cob at my grocery store and made it for family and friends. As soon as my Dad took a bite of the corn he asked me where I got it as it is delicious. Needless to say, we all took a bite of our corn and all agreed it was sweet, tender and delicious. Great way to start summer
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
Fill a large pot with water, bring the water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the butter and the milk and reduce heat to a simmer. Add the cleaned corn and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until tender. Remove from water and serve with additional butter and salt if desired.
Enjoy!
You might recognize this company as I wrote a review on 2 of their products last year. I wanted to give another update and tell you about two more of their products that I use on a regular basis. I have used them so much that not only have I ordered more online but on a recent trip in the motorhome to NY I contacted them wanting to get more information on the easiest way for me to order three cases of their product. Two cases of their spicy BBQ sauce and one case of their spicy and regular maple mustard.
I use this BBQ sauce on EVERYTHING! Literally everything… from grilled chicken, bacon wrapped kielbasa, drizzled over mac and cheese and most recently I used it on baby back ribs. The next recipe I will be making is a BBQ chicken pizza. I could go on and on, but you get the point. Their sauces are versatile and can go on just about anything.
I took the pictures of the label close so you can see the real ingredients that go into their products…no chemicals or artificial flavors here!
Let’s talk a little bit about the maple mustard. Robby puts this on everything. Some of our favorite ways to use the mustard goes beyond the bread. Of course, we love it on spicy sausage but I use this often on chicken by coating the chicken in mustard, then adding panko crumbs and either baking the chicken or air frying it. No matter what product you try, you will love!
Schweigarart’s Sugar Shack has amazing products with above and beyond customer service. If you are lucky enough to be in the N.Y. or P.A. area keep an eye out for their products. Of course, if you are traveling through like we do, be sure to find them. They also have a website and a Facebook page that they keep updated with what events they will be at. I’m looking forward to seeing them again a little later in the year and you can bet I’ll be stocking up again!
Thank you, Schweigart’s Sugar Shack, you will be seeing us again and again!
Enjoy!
This time of year I am always looking for easy “no-bake” desserts that I can make in our motorhome. I came across a couple of very similar no baked pies on Pinterest but this one looked so easy with just a couple of ingredients. I knew I wanted to try it on our first trip out. I made this in the morning before we went out for the day so when we got back it would be ready. Jim and I knew after just one bite I would be making this often. Sure enough, when we went to visit our daughter and her family in NY I made it for them and sure enough, they could not get enough of it.
I made this a third time for my parents and a friend and sure enough, everyone that has tried this pie loves it. I love it because it’s ridiculously easy!
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl combine the sweetened condensed milk with the Cool Whip and lemon juice. Stir to combine. When well incorporated pour the mixture into the pre-made crust. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours. When ready to serve you can add a dollop of Cool Whip if desired.
Enjoy!
