You might recognize this company as I wrote a review on 2 of their products last year. I wanted to give another update and tell you about two more of their products that I use on a regular basis. I have used them so much that not only have I ordered more online but on a recent trip in the motorhome to NY I contacted them wanting to get more information on the easiest way for me to order three cases of their product. Two cases of their spicy BBQ sauce and one case of their spicy and regular maple mustard.

I use this BBQ sauce on EVERYTHING! Literally everything… from grilled chicken, bacon wrapped kielbasa, drizzled over mac and cheese and most recently I used it on baby back ribs. The next recipe I will be making is a BBQ chicken pizza. I could go on and on, but you get the point. Their sauces are versatile and can go on just about anything.

I took the pictures of the label close so you can see the real ingredients that go into their products…no chemicals or artificial flavors here!

Let’s talk a little bit about the maple mustard. Robby puts this on everything. Some of our favorite ways to use the mustard goes beyond the bread. Of course, we love it on spicy sausage but I use this often on chicken by coating the chicken in mustard, then adding panko crumbs and either baking the chicken or air frying it. No matter what product you try, you will love!

Schweigarart’s Sugar Shack has amazing products with above and beyond customer service. If you are lucky enough to be in the N.Y. or P.A. area keep an eye out for their products. Of course, if you are traveling through like we do, be sure to find them. They also have a website and a Facebook page that they keep updated with what events they will be at. I’m looking forward to seeing them again a little later in the year and you can bet I’ll be stocking up again!

Thank you, Schweigart’s Sugar Shack, you will be seeing us again and again!

Enjoy!

The meal starter kits have been very popular at my local Hannaford grocery store, so when Jim and I were talking about them we decided to give one of them a try. I have to say I was VERY skeptical as I like to pick out my own meats and veggies and I wondered how fresh everything would really be.

When you open up the package, the first thing you see if how organized everything is. All of the ingredients are sealed and labeled so there is no confusion! Good start.

Directions

The directions are very clear with step by step instructions including additional ideas on how to make it your own. I found the cooking time to be very accurate.

Finished dish served with a side of air fried green beans

This picture really does not do the plate justice. This dish was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was incredibly tender with such great flavor. The sauce added even more flavor to the noodles and chicken but not overwhelming. I served this with a side of air fried green beans. I would make this dish any day of the week, it did not disappoint! The price for this Today’s Kitchen meal starter was $10.00 at my grocery store but the one slight downside is that the package says it serves 2+ people. I can say we did not have any left over, not a single bite. Jim and I were both incredibly impressed with our dinner and will certainly not hesitate to purchase it again for a busy night!

Enjoy!

While in New York this summer one of the things we went to was a barbeque competition being held at and for the Hammondsport,  NY Fire Department. This is a large fundraiser for the small fire department. The event is held each year and is called “Smoke on the Water” as the fire department is located at the southern tip of beautiful Keuka Lake. This event is held in late August and they have lots to do for everyone in your family, including a cornhole tournament, a kid zone with bouncy houses, and mini golf.  While we loved tasting all the amazing BBQ at the event, there was one particular vendor that stood out.  You guessed it, Schweigart’s Sugar Shack.

Schweigart’s has a number of products, BBQ sauces (one team competed using their sauce and won an award),
maple peanut butter sauce, candy, nuts maple cream and of course maple syrup. The company sells at local fairs and events in the NY and Pennsylvania area, BUT they do ship worldwide.
The day we were at the BBQ festival, I was asking about a couple of the products. One product I asked about was the Italian Maple Marinade. The gentleman told me one of their favorite ways to use that is to inject it in their Thanksgiving turkey and then roast the turkey. Needless to say, as soon as we got home that was one of the first things I made except using a chicken! It was absolutely delicious!

The second product I asked about was the Maple Peanut Butter Sauce.  Lucky for me, while I was chatting, both Jim and our son-in-law, Steve, took Luna so they all could get an ice cream! As soon as they came back, we added the Maple Peanut Butter Sauce on top of the ice cream and we all loved it! Creamy, rich and the perfect accompaniment to the ice cream! Needless to say, I bought both the marinade, Peanut Butter Sauce and also a bottle of the BBQ sauce!
We were talking about this company and their products all afternoon enough so that when we went to a hot air balloon festival a couple days later I went back to their tent and purchased more! All of their products are made with real ingredients, no high fructose corn syrup, and the main ingredient in each product is maple syrup!
They do ship worldwide and have a small website, so if you are not local to them check them out online!

I came across this sauce at our local grocery store (Hannaford, this is a Hannaford brand product by ‘inspirations’). I decided to give it a try on some shrimp that we were having with friends and family while we were in our motorhome camping with everyone. I also made stuffed shrimp and although everyone loved and ate all of the stuffed shrimp everyone came back looking for the mango coconut habanero shrimp! The best part is that this sauce is also gluten-free so our family and friends that can’t have gluten could enjoy these shrimp along with the rest of us. The sauce is a wonderful mouth-watering combination of sweet and spicy all in one bite! You taste the mango and coconut but then you get the heat from the habanero. The habanero is not overwhelming but it does wake up your taste buds. This sauce was incredible on the shrimp.

I purchased a bag of uncooked e-z peel shrimp. I peeled them but kept the tails on and placed all of the shrimp in a Ziploc bag and poured enough of the mango coconut habanero sauce to coat all of the shrimp, about a cup or so. I placed the shrimp in the refrigerator and let it marinate for a couple hours. When we were all getting ready to start dinner I put the shrimp on skewers discarding the marinade in the bag and had my grill master grill them just until they turned a beautiful pink! You can also serve some of the remaining sauce in the bottle on the side for extra dipping.

We loved these so much I made them again at home when we got back from our trip! This is one of my favorite grocery stores finds of the summer and one my kitchen will not be without! Don’t walk to Hannaford, RUN!

Enjoy!
